
Governor Gavin Newsom has announced his first proposal for the state’s budget. We are thrilled to see the urgency of the climate crisis reflected in this proposal, a roadmap of $36.7 billion to be invested in climate action, conservation, and clean energy over the next five years.
We need the boldest and most integrated efforts now to make sure we have achieved the progress that is scientifically necessary by 2030, so we’re gratified to see the blueprint include a plan to incorporate climate action into all sectors of government.
